A Weblog by Bradley Cain
Technology & Pop Culture is your geeky guide to gadgets, new media and all things digital. We scrape The Tubes daily and funnel it into something decidedly delicious. Just for you.
Have a tip? Send it along to and we'll make it happen.
Our very own Liberty, Missouri is on Yahoo! News and a handful of other blogs RE: getting students to listen to class lectures and related podcasts on their Zunes.
Microsoft donated the devices in exchange for usage information.

The King Abdulaziz Center for Knowledge and Culture is Saudi Arabia‘s new cultural center. And it’s future-gorgeous.
The design competition sanctioned by Saudi Aramco (see worlds largest oil company) featured five internationally recognized architectural firms — Snøhetta ultimately getting top billing. Wow indeed.
Now if only the United States could be inspired by such elegant architecture.

Blatant Mockery is proud to tease you with Sideshow Outtakes. Today is the 8 month anniversary after all. But who’s counting…
With the epic world record release of Firefox 3 last week (8 million downloads!) loads of extensions have been popping up to make your browsing experience even more enjoyable distracting.
FireNes will let you play 2000+ Nintendo games right from your sidebar within Firefox. You’ll need to install Java first (yea, I know, but get over it) and then the Firefox extension from the link below to get things going. Check the FAQ at the site for controls and make sure you click inside the game window to active them.
Double Dare, Bubble Bobble and Excite Bike included.
Work can wait.

Ditching your current cell phone contract for another carrier is usually a nightmare. Look forward to early termination fees, credit checks and bitchy customer service agents.
Enter Cell Swapper.
Log on and find someone who will take over your existing contract. Or find a short term contact.
Ohh, that shiny new iPhone 3G. Ohh, that shiny new 2 year AT&T contract. No more!

Okay, it’s circa 2002. And in honor of J Dza. And the Chicago bachelor road trip we embark on this Thursday.
The blog will go dark until Monday, which marks something very special.
Be sure to come back.

Really? I mean really?? Why is this even happening. Whatever it’s the 50th anniversary. How about a cake?

My goddess Alanis Morissette is back with her seventh studio album Flavors of Entanglement.
It’s kinda dance, but still moody and very post Ryan Reynolds, see “In Praise Of The Vulnerable Man” a great track. Sounds are rich and expressive, sometimes angry, sometimes sad. She’s back with her fun side on “On The Tequila” (fun, fun girls night out track) and “Giggling Again For No Reason”.
Flavors of Entanglement was co-produced by Guy Sigsworth of Björk fame. Electro hot. And it’s really visible on the first track — which leads me to…
You can get a DRM-free 256 kbs MP3 of the first track “Citizen Of The Planet” from Amazon for FREE right here!
Or stream the entire album for FREE at Artist Direct here.
I’m really quite impressed with this album. Alanis is a lyrical magician. She’s enlightened, mature and very female. If you are a fan and haven’t re-visited her post angry-mid-90′s-rock phase take a look!
