Jack White and Alicia Keys Record New Bond Theme
Posted by Bradley under Movies, Music

Jack White wrote and drummed the new Quantum of Solace theme song. Alicia Keys did something.
This might be a disaster Another Way to Die.
Don’t worry! We have the Pineapple Express theme.

Creepy Showbiz Pizza Robots Premiered At Antioch Mall?!
Posted by Bradley under Kansas City, Personal

Apparently Antioch Mall was the home of the very first Showbiz Pizza in 1980.
My inner child just cried.
Like the time I looked up Mitzi Mozzerela’s skirt and was horrified at the vagina-less pneumatics that were there. Ahhh, memories.
Anyway, I only mention all of this because those creepy singing robots (AKA the Rock-afire Explosion) have been known to sing other, not-so-kid-friendly songs.
Electric Feel - MGMT, Conquest - White Stripes, 4 Minutes - Madonna, Love In This Club - Usher
I stumbled upon the Antioch Mall connection while doing some background research. And if you have some cash to spare the original creator of the bots will program any almost any song you like.
Enjoy a trip down memory lane courtesy of some very devoted people.

Periodic Table Of Videos Trumps Your Science Room’s Wall
Posted by Bradley under Science, Technology

It had to happen sometime.
The University of Nottingham has a modern take on that Periodic Table of Elements poster collecting dust at your Alma mater.
The Periodic Table of Videos is an interactive, clickable, videoized web version of the familiar Periodic Table. It was created by Brady Haran of the BBC along with a handful of chemistry scientists and professors at the University of Nottingham.
Click on your favorite element and it will launch a YouTube video of demonstrations (read: burning things) and commentary from important people wearing glasses.
I heart magnesium.

Dot Matrix Printers Film Latest Radiohead Video
Posted by Bradley under Music, Technology

Okay, so not really. They used lasers! Friggin’ lasers.
Radiohead and a handful of geeks used several laser technologies to film their lastest video for “House of Cards“. And they did it all without video or film of any kind.
Really interesting behind the scenes of the process at the link. And the video too, of course.

And if you’re patient, play around with the data visualization flash application. WOAH!
