Windows 7 is coming October 22, 2009 and is a significant step in the evolution of Windows as an operating system.

Sadly, it will cost you $119.99, $199.99 or $219.99 for Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate upgrades respectively.

But if you are a fanatical geek (or a smart consumer) you can score a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional for $49 or $99.  That’s half off!

But there’s a catch.

You have until July 11 or “until supplies run out” to pre-order your copy from Microsoft at the link below.  After that the price goes up to the regular, retail pricing.

It is worth noting that Best Buy and a handful of other retail stores will be participating in this offer if you like to rock your software brick and mortar style.

To put it in Microsoft’s words, “Sit back and smile. You scored.”

REMINDER: Your Analog TV’s Will Implode At Midnight

Don’t forget your old school analog TV‘s will cease receiving over-the-air TV signals come tomorrow unless you score a digital converter box or you receive your television by cable, satellite or built-in HDTV tuner.

Congress extended the DTV Transition date from Feburary 17th, 2009 (best day ever might I add) to June 12, 2009 due to the economy and lack of DTV coupons.

It’s your geeky duty to call grandma and inform her that her precious block of Baking With Julia and The Best Of The Joy Of Painting will no longer be filling her noontime cat nap unless she steps up to all digital TV.

Microsoft’s Kudo Tsinoda Says Expect “Project Natal” In Calendar Year 2009 On Jimmy Fallon

On Jimmy Fallon tonight (June 11, 2009) Microsoft’s Kudo Tsinoda said Xbox 360 could be getting motion control ala Project Natal by calendar year 2009.

Does this mean Microsoft’s game-changing technology would be available for the Holiday season?
